University of Kentucky Visitor’s Center

My 2021 Fall Studio project was to create a new visitor’s center for the University of Kentucky. Our site was the “bowl” outside of the William T. Young Library on campus. The program must include: reception/new student area, small gallery, current student study space, and set of bathrooms. My goal for this project was to address the need of the student by creating a shorter, covered outdoor walkway, as well as an indoor green space for relaxation. I wanted to work with the existing topography without changing it too much.
